Following the success of The Beekeeper in early 2024, a sequel has been greenlit, with Jason Statham set to reprise his role as Adam Clay.
The original film, directed by David Ayer, received positive reviews for its straightforward storytelling and Statham’s compelling performance.
In February 2025, Miramax announced that The Beekeeper 2 is in development, with Timo Tjahjanto attached as the director.
Tjahjanto is known for his dynamic action sequences, which suggests that the sequel will continue the high-octane style of its predecessor.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2025.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the first film introduced audiences to Adam Clay, a former operative seeking vengeance after a personal tragedy. The sequel is expected to delve deeper into Clay’s past and the secretive organization known as “The Beekeepers.”
Josh Hutcherson is reportedly joining the cast, though his role has not been disclosed.
The original film also featured performances by Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Phylicia Rashad, and Jeremy Irons. It is yet to be confirmed which of these actors will return for the sequel.
Given the production timeline, The Beekeeper 2 is anticipated to hit theaters in late 2026. Fans can expect more thrilling action sequences and an exploration of the intriguing mythology established in the first film.
As more information becomes available, audiences eagerly await updates on what promises to be another adrenaline-pumping chapter in The Beekeeper series.
