The original film, directed by David Ayer, received positive reviews for its straightforward storytelling and Statham’s compelling performance.
In February 2025, Miramax announced that The Beekeeper 2 is in development, with Timo Tjahjanto attached as the director.
Tjahjanto is known for his dynamic action sequences, which suggests that the sequel will continue the high-octane style of its predecessor.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2025.
