Assassin’s Creed 2 (2024) – Is a Remake Coming?
The Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of the most successful in gaming history, with numerous titles exploring different historical settings. Among them, Assassin’s Creed II, released in 2009, remains one of the most beloved entries. It introduced players to Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young nobleman who becomes an Assassin after his family is betrayed. With a rich Renaissance setting, engaging story, and improved gameplay over the first game, Assassin’s Creed II is often regarded as the best in the series.
Recently, rumors have circulated about a possible Assassin’s Creed II remake or remaster for 2024. However, Ubisoft has not officially announced any plans for a new version of the game. Instead, fans who wish to revisit Ezio’s journey can play Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, a remastered bundle that includes Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. This collection is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, allowing modern players to experience Ezio’s saga with enhanced visuals.
While there may not be an official Assassin’s Creed II remake, Ubisoft continues to expand the franchise. The next major title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is set to release on March 20, 2025, and will take players to feudal Japan, a long-requested setting by fans.
For now, Assassin’s Creed II remains a classic, and while a full remake would be exciting, players can still enjoy Ezio’s legendary story through existing remasters. Whether or not Ubisoft revisits this iconic game, its legacy in the Assassin’s Creed franchise remains strong.
